Hi, I'm Giorgio

Music is a passion that has always been with me. Even before it became my job, it was a constant curiosity: records to listen to, artists to discover, stories to tell.

For many years I worked as a journalist, including time at Rai. In 2012, however, I had already begun to shape this passion by creating Gold Soundz, a webzine dedicated to the music I love. From there, the Audioforums were born: meetings dedicated to listening to and discovering music together with other people.

In 2022, I decided to take the “big leap” and that passion became a record shop: Gold Soundz Dischi, in the Arcella district of Padua. I chose Arcella because it is the most international, vibrant, and bustling neighborhood in the city, as well as the place where I live: a curious place, full of different people and stories. It seemed like the right place for a shop like mine.

Today, Gold Soundz is also this e-commerce store. The idea, however, remains the same: seeking out good music, discovering new music, and sharing it with those who want to listen.

Why Gold Soundz?

The name comes from “Gold Soundz” by Pavement, one of the songs that best represents our way of understanding music: independent, curious, a bit unconventional, and never taking itself too seriously.

It is also our little manifesto: following what we like, looking for new things, and not worrying too much about what we "should" be listening to.

And in the end, perhaps, that’s a good way to face everything else, too.
